ARTIST INFO

ARMY

Many are called, and few are chosen. Singer, and songwriter Army, is soon to be the choice of many. You immediately feel what reggae music is all about! While fulfilling a deep desire to communicate positive messages to others, Army brings his vision to life through his music. His unique ability to use poetry allows him to simultaneously send clear and subtle messages that will touch any heart and soothe the soul. He accomplishes this with great ease and feels he has only scratched the surface of what he plans to contribute to the world of music.

7TH ST. BAND

Berkeley’s 7th Street Band has made its name backing some of the greats and new voices of reggae. While 7th Street Band has been hitting West Coast stages for over a decade, drummer Edi Arnold and keyboardist Benjamin Goff, friends since high school, have played together since 1992. Edi, as a founding member, and Ben, as his right-hand man have been the foundation and executive producers of all 7th Street works. Jason ‘Jay Stone’ Collins of the legendary Funkanauts, on guitar, rounds out the trio that is the original 7th Street Sound.

,
7th Street Band has been called one of the Bay Area’s best-kept musical secrets and has backed many top touring Reggae vocalists, including Sanchez, Gappy Ranks, Glenn Washington, Konshens, Warrior King, Marlon Asher, Louie Culture, and Million Stylez. Over the years, 7th Street has worked with over 50 different dynamic vocalists including Reemah, Blakkamoore, Arkaingelle, Mega Banton, Norris Man, Junior Toots, Danny I, Army, Rocker T, Wadi Gad, Tuff Lion, Earl Zero, Winstrong, Binghi Ghost and the late, great Luv Fyah.

RISE UP

Rise Up is an established 5-piece Reggae band hailing from various areas of the Bay Area/Northern California. Gaining a reputation for their energetic and Rootsy live performances, their sound is aptly described as “a smoky blend of roots reggae with California attitude for a style that falls closer to Bob Marley than Sublime. In other words, Genuine Reggae.” (Matt Weir, Good Times Santa Cruz)

After originally forming just to fill a spot for a local benefit show, Rise Up has gone on to release two studio EPs with renowned producer and musician EN Young (formerly of Tribal Seeds) on Roots Musician Records. Lion Roar in 2019 featured the song “Rebel Souljahs” which has gone on to reach more than 55,000 plays on the popular Reggae YouTube Channel Stereo High Love, as well as making the rotation on Cali Roots Radio selected by Rebelution Lead Singer Eric Rachmany. More recently, the band released The Pursuit in 2021 which garnered overwhelming positive buzz leading to feature articles in Irie Magazine, Top Shelf Music Magazine, Top Rankin’ Music Magazine, etc. The band also released 2 singles and a Dub Album independently in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Rise Up has earned the opportunity to share stages in the past with some of the Jamaican Legends of Reggae music including The Meditations, Winston Jarrett, Half Pint, The Wailing Souls, etc.; as well as modern heavyweights of the genre such as Arise Roots, The Expendables, Josh Heinrichs & Skillinjah, etc.

Rise Up is poised to push forward and bring its unique brand of Roots Rock Reggae music to the masses in 2022 and beyond.
